Group Jewellery making workshops

This Spring (2024) I will be offering group silver jewellery making workshops in our cosy yurt at my home in Withiel, North Cornwall. Come and learn the art of silver jewellery making led by myself, Sophie Marsden. I have over 10 years experience making jewellery after graduating a silversmithing and jewellery degree in 2011.
Complete beginners very welcome, I will demonstrate and guide you through each step of the process.


Hen Parties ~

For the creative bride, a unique group hen experience to work together to create beautiful keepsake rings which can be worn on the hen night or on the big day! Come and relax and bond over getting hands on creating a set of 3 sterling silver stacking rings. You will explore traditional and contemporary jewellery making techniques such as shaping, forming, soldering, texturing, stamping, finishing and polishing. 
You will have the choice of different shaped silver wires and many texture options including my popular leaf print (As pictured above) to make the rings unique to you.

Cost ~ Prices start from £65 per person

*Added extras can include prosecco and nibbles.*

Kids/Teens Birthday parties ~

Come and celebrate a birthday with your friends and create your own sterling silver ring to take home. You will explore traditional and contemporary jewellery making techniques such as shaping, forming, texturing, stamping, soldering, finishing and polishing. You will have the choice of many different texture options including my popular leaf print (As pictured above) to make the ring unique to you.

*Ages 10+ Minimum of 4 people. The group must be accompanied by an adult.*

*Added extras can include soft drinks and snacks.*

Home Education groups ~

Would you like to organise a group of home educated children/teens to learn a traditional craft? Create a sterling silver ring using traditional and contemporary jewellery making techniques. You will get to explore shaping, forming, texturing, stamping, soldering, finishing and polishing. You will have the choice of many different texture options including my popular leaf print (As pictured above) to create a ring unique to you.

*Ages 10+ Minimum of 4 people. The group must be accompanied by an adult.*

Gathering of Friends/Family ~

Gather friends/family to enjoy quality time together. Relax and make memories over learning a new skill, creating 3 sterling silver stacking rings using traditional and contemporary jewellry making techniques. You will get to explore shaping, forming, texturing, stamping, soldering, 
finishing and polishing. You will have the choice of different shaped silver wires and many texture options including my popular leaf print (As pictured above.) to make the rings unique to you.

Materials and equipment ~

I will provide the group with all tools and silver to complete the workshop project.

Location and Times ~

The workshops will take place in our cosy yurt with beautiful surroundings overlooking Grogley woods, Withiel North Cornwall. The workshops will run year round and can take place during the week days and weekends.
Please allow around 3.5 - 4 hours to complete the workshop.

Accessibility ~

Our home is down a 1 mile long farm track which is bumpy in places so please drive slowly. We have parking available for a few cars but if you are a large group, please car share where you can. The yurt is set up on a decking so unfortunately it is not accessible for wheelchairs.
